Kidney Transplant; MRI with Contrast

Hi @hello1234
While I am a heart transplant recipient, I am allergic to the traditional contrast dye and it does damage my kidneys. The last time I had an MRI I was given a different type of contrast - gadolinium - which is not iodine based. Perhaps you could ask your team about this possible alternative.
Let us know how it goes.

Thank you @estrada53 😊 That's very helpful information. I will definitely write that contrast name down and ask about it! I want to protect my transplanted kidney as much as I can. Now I am mad at myself for getting covid! I was scheduled for an Evusheld shot and I postponed it when I got the BK virus thinking I may be adding to much stuff to my kidney. But that was stupid, because getting covid is definitely a greater risk then taking Evusheld. I find it difficult to weigh all the risks and rewards of every decision.
