What activities can I do after Bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG)?

I want to know if i can mow my lawn with a self propelled lawn mower? I just feel worthless with nothing much to do.

@janiebaby I'm guessing that this is your call because only you know if you're up to the challenge. My opinion is that some form of activity is critical to provide a distraction and sense of purpose/accomplishment. Best,

@janiebaby Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. That's an important question, to be sure. We want our lives to go back to as normal as we can, after a hurdle we have had to jump.

I think @thebobk is on the right track, finding purpose and distraction, looking at what is important to us. I would suggest you speak to your medical team and get their thoughts as they know more details about where you are in your own journey.

Also, I would invite @parus to give her thoughts on activities after this treatment.
How are you feeling? How far out are you from your treatment?

I'm going to bring @texascitylady @sue225 @glgraham @judith4 @texascitylady into this discussion to share their experiences with activity levels after BCG treatment. They or their loved one have had Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) treatment for bladder cancer.

My husband had BCG treatments for over 6 months following bladder surgery. He would take it easy for 24-48 hours after the treatment when his bladder seemed a bit sensitive. After that, activity was normal. I also have cancer and my experience is to listen to your body. If you have the energy, do it. When your fatigue level is high, definitely rest. Good luck to you.

My husband tolerated many BCG treatments very well & thankfully resumed his normal activities almost immediately after his treatments. At the present time he is seen in 6 months & if then no evidence of recurrence, he goes once per year.
