Occult injury of radial bone: What helps the pain?

Posted by werrie @werrie, Sep 5, 2022

hi im werner. 20 years of age. i went for a x ray at my gp office and they could not see threw the soft tissue swelling they think that I cracked not fractured just cracked my raduis ,but the doctor said he wants the swelling to reduce before he does a second x ray. the pain is nearly unbearable but the x ray says no dislocation or fracture but occult bony injury remains high and severe soft tissue swelling. where should I take this or should I waitand do the second x ray?

Ouch, @werrie. I've fractured my wrist bone twice. I know that pain well. It hurts. For me, I iced and kept my arm elevated. This will also help reduce the swelling. Keeping the arm immobile helped to reduce the pain too. During the day I was able to manage without pain meds, but at night I took extra strength Tylenol.
When did you injure your arm? Did they give you anything for the pain?
