Basal cell carcinoma

I was recently diagnosed with an infiltrative basal cell carcinoma on the left nasal ala. I am scheduled for a Moh's surgery in a month. Would it be harmful to apply fluorouracil cream to the site before having the surgery. Could the fluorouracil potentially resolve the problem thus avoiding surgery?
