My blood pressure has gone from a lifetime of 120/ to 170 / and thru My-Chart my Dr said, “ make an appointment to see me and we will discuss medication”. Aren’t there a few steps to take before meds. I am 88 years old and in good health, walk everyday or swim, and my diet is good, not perfect but good.
I would appreciate any suggestions or ideas others have.
Lulu

Ask that doctor if any of his pills are going to repair any part of your cardiology at age 88. He will probably respond - no, but they may add a few more years to your life.- He may or may not also point out there's a good chance of med side effects that will make those extra years less pleasant than what you seem to be enjoying now. Do you really want a $29.95 home BP monitor to decide how the rest of your life will be?
