Dear Nurses:
Thank you for all you have done for me. Your kindness, compassion and caring has helped teach me how to grieve, recover and get up again. And again.
Recently, I had an MRI and was very anxious. You provided some aroma and talk therapy before the test that eased my mind and got me through it all.
I am grateful for you all.

It seems to me that every nurse I've met at Mayo Clinic and the two hospitals are in a class by themselves. They are personable, communicative, kind and patient. They not only make me feel good about care at Mayo, but they make me feel good about humanity -- there are good people "out there."

Nurses deserve incredible respect and gratitude. I’ve been in hospital many times for myself, family and friends. Nurses are more than medical caregivers. Nurses are The First Responders , unless you arrive by ambulance. Our nurses have been challenged more than ever through this Pandemic.
Take a moment and tell a nurse how important they are in our lives.

All of the nurses I interacted with at Mayo-Rochester in the BMT group and Station 94/95 were wonderful! They are caring, compassionate, professional, and we’re always there for me when I needed them! It takes a very special kind of person to be a nurse and they have my utmost respect! ❤️

My wife Maggie just spent 12 days at Mayo Methodists Campus Hospital, Rochester, MN on 5th floor, 5-201, released 6/13/22. Nurse Jacki did an exceptional job taking care of her. I'm hoping to reach out to Jacki and tell her thank you for the exceptional care she gave. So if anyone may know Jacki, please pass this message along. Thank you!

Hi Dennis! Having a care team at the Mayo Clinic is pretty amazing isn’t it? It’s something people have to experience for themselves to completely understand.
It’s wonderful that your wife had an outstanding nurse in Jacki! This online forum, while backed by Mayo Clinic, isn’t connected in that we aren’t able to contact anyone at the clinic personally.

What you can do is write directly to the clinic at this address:

Methodist Hospital
5th floor. (5-201). (Attention Nurse Jacki)
200 First Street SW
Rochester, Minnesota 55905

The note will get to the main desk on that floor and from there, it will get to Jacki. You can put a note inside the envelope giving the room number and the date your wife was there to narrow down the correct nurse on duty. You could try to contact the desk on that floor too but they won’t give you Jacki’s last name.

There’s an opportunity in our forum to nominate a nurse for a DAISY award for outstanding service! https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/nominate-a-mayo-clinic-rochester-nurse-for-a-daisy-award/

Does your wife have any follow up appointments? That might give you a chance to take something directly to that floor…for Jacki or all the nurses!
