Can anyone recommend a good chair for my relative who is having a double mastectomy and will not be able to recline while drainage tubes are in place.

Hi, I had a bilateral mastectomy just one month ago. We purchased a Lazyboy recliner. It is the best thing I could have done. I have slept in this recliner every night for a month now. I did try one night in my bed but returned to the recliner within an hour. I can’t stay flat on my back for very long. The recliner allows me to easily adjust my position. It also allows me to adjust the lumbar support. I hope this will be helpful to you.

Also reposition, if you can. Lidoderm patches help some.

I used a wedge pillow on my bed and a railing that went under the mattress to help me get in and out of bed. I had a regular recliner that I could push back with using my legs. I did not find I needed an electric recliner. I was so much more comfortable in bed!
