Is there a connection between Lichen Planus and Squamous Cancer?

Posted by fdixon63 @fdixon63, Mar 5, 2022

I've have LP for many years over many parts of my body including gums and vagina. In 2009 I had to have surgery for squamous cancer on both legs--one requiring skin grafting. Last year I had MOHS surgery in two places on the left leg. I've asked the doc's if there is a connection between the two conditions. I was told no but just not sure myself so wanted to check out there with others in the group. Thanks much.

Thanks for the reference information however my question was actually directed toward squamous cancer on my legs. I don't think I've have any squamous CA in my mouth and I'm seen every 4 months by my dentist. Was not seen by Oncologist. I had Mohs surgery.

Yes I was told by two dermatologist that there is NO connection between LP and squamous CA.
