Long COVID: What helps other than rest and more rest?

Posted by kellylee @kellylee, Feb 1, 2022

I feel like there is a gel coating on around my brain. Not quite a headache but a continuous pressure. The 'gel' sensation feels like it prevents the neurons from landing where they need to go... preventing me from from completing simple tasks. I am forgetful, easily confused, dizzy and my brain fatigues quickly. Has anyone else experienced something similar? Is this long term as I have good and bad days?

did u need 02 during and post covid? how far out since u were sick with covid did u first notice these symptoms? my daughter (37 yrs old) was discharged home with 02 and after just a few weeks has weaned herself off of it but is now really experiencing the brain fog.

I also went home with oxygen. Weaned off of it about 2-3 weeks after. I only needed 1L when I was up moving around. I had the brain fog the whole time. Mine was what you hear covid can do. It slowly got better but some days still are more than others. I am 3 1/2 months past. I learned to write things down right away as I think of them if I know I want or need to remember them. It should get better and better with time.

I did not need O2 but use the over the counter canisters when getting short of breath and am not where I can lay down to do deep breathing. They do seem to help, or it's just psychological. I have had these symptoms ever since my acute stage of COVID starting August 2020. I still have them. 🙁 Brain fog comes and goes -

I got a moderate case of Covid in July 2021. Have had 2 vaccines. Since then every time I walk a lot or exercise I have a huge Neuro exacerbation. Recently (3 weeks ago I was exposed to Omicron. And since then I have lots of nausea, vomiting & diarrhea. 3 weeks and I’m still barely able to get out of bed. Also having the weirdest Neuro feelings inside

Yes I understand exactly what you mean! It’s hard to explain to people that is not necessarily a headache, but pressure. It seems to be positional for me. Meaning that if I hold my head a certain way the pressure is more or less intense.

my headaches are worse if I have done too much "brain work" (computer, finances, planning) in the days prior. When I stay within my allotted 2 hours of "thinking work" a day I am better.

I agree. My "headaches" accompany exertion.

I assume you tested covid positive 3 weeks ago? When you say 2 vaccines, do you mean two brands, two shots, two shots and a booster? Was it before 7-21 covid ? Thank You.
