Anyone (or their partner) smoking when they have lung disease?

My husband said that he does not inhale and only smokes about 3 a week, I am not sure he smokes that few, and wonder if anyone is still smoking when they have pulmonary fibrosis.

@maryflorida, that must be tough to accept. Quitting is so hard. It's also hard on you to see him continue smoking. Has his doctor spoke to him about the smoking? Is he honest with himself, you and the doctor?

He did stop smoking finally. 🙂 Whew!

Colleen, how kind of you to ask! He is in the hospital right now, having had dizziness etc. Negative for covid or flu, so they are doing many tests now to see what is causing his symptoms. They are going to do a lung scan today to see how bad the scarring is. He does not seem to be low on oxygen as yet, but is somewhat breathless. Thank you again for asking. I would say you are a really good moderator!

Any updates, Mary? Is he home now? Did they find the underlying issue?
