Avoiding Flare Up (I hope)

Using the sudden appearance of yellow mucus as the “trigger,” I started a round of Azithromycin I had on hand. Proof that I’m not too stupid. Don

I take 1 every second day. I have tried to stop taking arithromycin but i am still busy working and infect myself i believe. The longest i went without would be about a month and i can feel my 2 spots in my lung and start to feel rough and congested. I do the .7% salt inhaling morning and night. It really does help.My Dr is great. He allows me to have the drug on hand. Before by the time I got into see someone I was really sick. Thanks to everyone on the forum it has been a great help. Garry, our daily routines are very similar. Nice to have a doc that recognizes that you’re a responsible adult.

btw, I have a daughter and son-in-law in Vernon, a bit east of you I’d guess. Also, are you doing anything diet-wise to counteract the threat antibiotics pose to your microbiome? To that end, I include some fermented food in my daily diet. Don

Garry, this may be a tough assignment. In a recent post you described the “feeling” in your lungs as” rough and congested.” I’d welcome any further amplification of your subjective experience of those moments. My curiosity grows from the apparent absence of a similar feeling. My discomfort seems limited to my throat. Thanks for any input. Don

I have phemona several times 40 years ago. This is what it is like if I don't have the antibiotics. Back then I would go to the dr and they get an xray and of course it would not show up unless it real was phemonia. I lived with this until a young intern sent me for a lung sample. That was about 10 years ago.I went on the big 3 then. The antibiotics work well back then but I find they are not working as well now. That is a concern I have. Hoping i can keep well until another new drug comes out.My lungs use to fill up but now I never give them a chance. The only drug that works is aritromycin.Dr tries changing them up but might as well leave them in the store.
Question Have u ever tried a steam room or a dry sauna? Steam room really helped me. I am going to make an infarred sauna. I had trouble getting rid of the moisture in the house from a steam room.

How will you make the infrared sauna?

What are the fermented foods that you eat? I also have GERD which complicates the MAC.

Thumper, does the Azithromycin cause side effects for you? I read that your eyes and skin can become colored as well as other uncomfortable side effects.

REPLY

Nancy, I’m unaware of anything I might think of as “side effects.”

Cold Weather Levity. Despite the absence of aquaintance with the Klondike or a Well Digger’s vocational exposure I’ll boldly state that it’s currently colder than a “Well Digger’s Butt” in Dallas! Thumperguy (Don)

Oops, that works better as “colder than a well-digger’s butt in the Klondike!” here in Dallas.
