Thanks for the concern and advice. I think the night time snacks and love for sweets chocolate are my biggest hurtle.

@lawman Let me add my welcome, I see you have been a member for a while, but recently did your first post.
Yeah for you, for recognizing where your downfall may be with the battle of being overweight! Snacks and sweets call out to many, to indulge. We think "oh, one piece won't hurt me…I've had a rough day…I'll watch it closer tomorrow…" and soon it is a habit that we are reluctant to break.
What can you replace that nighttime snacking and love of sweets with? Is there a hobby you do that requires you to concentrate or use both hands? For example, if you are doing a crafting project, you might not want to get your hands sticky/greasy and transfer that to the project, so you can substitute the eating with doing something creative. Have you thought about that?
