Exemestane and Lupron injections for Breast Cancer

Has anyone ever been recommended this treatment due to "waking up" of ovaries after switching off tamoxifen? I am curious to know anyone's experiences with this course of treatment.

I found a couple abstracts about this, and it does appear to be a well studied combination. Interestingly it appears it was first studied in male breast cancer then in female patients with appropriate receptors.
I have not heard of this being used but breast cancer treatment advances in leaps and bounds now compared to even 10 years ago.
Can you tell me more about your breast cancer? Previous treatments?

IDC grade 1 ER+, HER 2- with lumpectomy and proton radiation. I was on Tamoxifen for 18 months with minimal issues. I started to develop some retinal deposits and , after testing determined I was post menopausal, I was switched to letrozole. I developed side effects from the letrozole and was taken off of it. I ended up extending my two week period of coming off the letrozole to six weeks in order to talk directly with my provider about options going forward. I was switched to Exemestane but blood work done right before put my estradiol level at 86 rather than >10 as the previous 4 had been. Rather than switch back to Tamoxifen, my provider advised staying on Exemestane and adding a Lupron injection monthly to suppress estrogen. I was just curious if anyone had ever been on this regime and how it went?

That is certainly an unusual situation. I am hopeful there will be some folks here, all I can tell you is that is pretty well studied and has been used for some time now.
