Swallowing after supercharged jejunal interposition

Posted by aer @aer, Oct 10, 2021

Hello, I just recently got the supercharged jejunal interposition surgery in August. For those of you who have gotten this, how did you deal with the difference in swallowing or when did it start feeling not as awkward? I feel like I get this burpy feeling. Thank you!

Typically, we recommend swallowing three times in a row for each bite to deliver the food into your small bowel and help prevent it from coming back up.

Hi @aer, have you tried swallowing three times in a row for each bite as Dr. Blackmon suggested? Has it helped?

Dancing, do you find swallowing difficult due to dry mouth from Sjogren's? Do you tend to eat foods that are soft or moist, like purées, soups, sauces, etc?

Yes very difficult. Especially lately. Eat mostly soft or Liguid especially at am and dinnertime meal. I’m finding I have a thick feeling in my throat especially after dinner. It’s very uncomfortable. Feeling like clearing my throat and now have a little herd coming back. It was gone for a while.
