That’s exactly my point. I go to sleep with ice pack and 600mg Gabapentin (10:30pm). I’m woken up by 3 or 4 am with pain. I think my pain dr mentioned time release. Just checking to see if anyone has used it.

I'd give the time-release a try. Time release meds are known to have fewer side effects. The greatest benefit for you would be that it's not as likely to cause you to be so drowsy since your not getting such a large does all at once. Of course extended-release version will be more costly, probably substantially more. I don't believe there is a generic available yet. The name of the gabapentin extended release medication is called “Gralise.” Also it may be necessary to get a prior authorizationfor this medication. Your doctor will have to justify why he's ordering it. My Neurologis refuses to prescribe immediate-release seizure meds (provided an extended-release formulation is available) unless he can't get it covered by insurance and the patient can't afford it.
I think you'll be happy with this version, it's normally only taken once a day.
I take all my medications in the morning to one of my doctors dismay but I told her isn’t it better I take it in the morning than to forget it. That quieted her down for now.

She was confined to bed but she had one of those gizmos that you push the button and talk and you can get help so an ambulance came and drug me to the hospital. she was afraid I would go into status epilepticus because of my history of that. The worst part about a seizure for me he’s biting my tongue and cheek. I don’t know who the nitwit was that decided nothing can be put in a seizing persons mouth but let me tell you for sure I certainly would like to have five minutes alone with that person. I bet that person had very few seizures if any at all to come up with such an idiotic suggestion, (in my opinion.) I suppose after 13+ thousand I’ve gotten used to them, well as used to them as one can get.

Yes, Gabapentin does come in a time-release formulation.
I know they make 600 my and maybe 300 mg too. You may need to increase your dose. Gabapentin, although the recommended daily amount is considered 3,600 mg a day. However if you don't have side effects or they are tolerable it can be increased we'll above that limit. I knew it a man who took 7,000 mg a day for Neuropathy. I only took the 3,600 but wonder if a higher dose would have helped. years later I took fentanyl which helped me but that drug is it commonly given out, Well at least not legally.

I was on 3600 mg/day and still had break through pain. My PCP said I shouldn’t be on that high of a dose. Plus I had a psychological event which can be caused by high doses.

I have neuropathy in my feet & legs. I only take 600 mg of Gabapentin & it never really did help but now I am experiencing really bad tingling which is causing me to be depressed & don't feel like doing anything. Does anyone know of anything that would take this feeling away. I'm at wits end. I don't know what to do & the doctors are not helping. Any help would be appreciated.

Does anyone know if gravies is covered by Medicare?
I have neuropathy in my feet & legs. I only take 600 mg of Gabapentin & it never really did help but now I am experiencing really bad tingling which is causing me to be depressed & don't feel like doing anything. Does anyone know of anything that would take this feeling away. I'm at wits end. I don't know what to do & the doctors are not helping. Any help would be appreciated.
