Hi Albet, I'm a Heart Transplant and mine was done at Mayo but I'm not sure what the cost difference might be but I do know they take Medicare and when mine was done I was on Blue Cross Blue Shield and it paid pretty much all of it. Also Mayo is good at working with you on help spreading out any out of pocket cost. Best thing to do is call them to speak to them about it. Good Luck

@albet,
Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect.
I am a patient, and when I became a transplant patient at Mayo Rochester, the transplant team coordinated with my insurance for the costs. Costs and insurances are a complex issue. If you are considering Mayo Clinic for your transplant, Mayo Clinic Transplant Department has a team of financial experts who can assist patients with their questions and collaborate with their insurance companies. You can read about how they help patients here:

I read in your profile that you suffer with stage 3 hepatitis. Have you been referred for a liver transplant? Which Mayo Clinic location are you interested in?

@pito583, Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect.
I see that you have posted in the Transplant Discussion Group. After your biopsy at Baylor, have you been told that you will need transplant?

@pito583, Mayo does work with multiple insurances. It does get complicated and as a patient, I want to share some information that you can use to get answers for your question about Possible costs and Medicare coverage.

Here is a section in the Transplant Department Center about costs and insurances.
