Low Testosterone

My husbands kidney doctor suggested that he have a testosterone shot and it did help him feel better. He has stage 3 kidney disease and just doesn’t have much energy. He is 77 years old and I am wondering if the shots are safe for him. His blood work did show low testosterone levels. We tried viagra but it drops his blood pressure too low. I don’t think it is safe. He is going to a urologist next month and I wonder what questions we should ask. He has a hard time getting erections because of some of his blood pressure meds and has retrograde ejaculation probably because of taking flomax. We would like to get our sex life back to a better level if possible. I think the doctors just don’t care because of our age. Anyone have any suggestions?

I agree that Doctors just don"t care re about the whole E.D./Sex in Marriage thing for elderly people. I've run into that attitude issue while talking to my Urologist.. I just find enough Doctors who do care that allows me to proceed with my own plan which includes Sex in my marriage.

Hi Anet, have you and your husband considered consulting with a sex therapist?

A good Urologist worth his weight in salt will be able to help you navigate through the many options available to you (E.G.; vacuum pump, medications, implant and injections) I am seeing Dr. Desai in Lecanto, FL., and he is very, very good.
