I have recently been diagnosed with prostate cancer. My PSA was 1.6 now down to.7 and am unsure whether to have radiation therapy or surgically removed. Can you tell me the pros and cons of both? Thank You.

These low PSA numbers driving men to treatment have always been interesting to me. I’m sure there is more to the story. I have been on Active Surveillance for three years now. PSA fluctuating between mid 4s to mid 5s. Gleason 6, and low risk genomic test results. I have no intention to pursue any treatment. My AS includes 6 month PSA checks with visit to urologist and annual 3TMRI. We will continue to monitor. I am 66 years of age.
Best wishes to you.

I would seek a second opinion. With your PSA level that low and decreasing, I would be dancing for joy.
