Pontine lacunar infractions

I had 2 chronic right pontine lacunar infractions in August ‘20 during a cerebral angiogram. It wasn’t treated at the time, instead was told maybe i had a “mini stroke”. I then reached out to Mayo who found what was going on. I ended up with my left side randomly giving out. Went to therapy which helped temporarily, but still to this day the off balance/dizziness (I look like I’m very drunk) comes and goes. I eat healthy, exercise everyday (no matter how I feel) but I still have these episodes.
Does anyone else have this?

From what I have read about this problem, it appears as if this involves the small vessels of the brain. Is this correct? Do you know what area of the brain was affected?

Here is a discussion group on Connect that deals with small vessel disease. As you read the posts and respond (by clicking on Reply) perhaps you can get more information and/or support.

Does your doctor offer you any suggestions as to how to deal with this and if it can be corrected through some type of physical therapy?

Both strokes occurred on the right side of the pons. I was told to take 325 aspirin everyday, I’m extremely sensitive to most meds. The dr told me it would come and go but diet and exercise would help limit the frequency. Very frustrating!

Thanks for providing additional information. I can understand how the unpredictable nature of this disorder would be, as you say, very frustrating.

I just noticed that I did not give you the link to the Small Vessel Disease discussion group that I mentioned in my earlier post. I would encourage you to read the posts and see if there is something new that you can learn about this disorder.

You mentioned that you eat healthily and exercise on a regular basis. Have you had any physical therapy?

I did physical therapy for several months. I still do the exercises at home
