Support Groups for Renal Failure

Does anyone know of a renal failure support group in Rochester?

Hi Judy,
Here is a list of the current support groups at Mayo Clinic in Rochester. https://www.mayoclinic.org/patient-visitor-guide/support-groups/minnesota Currently there isn't an in-person support group dedicated to renal failure. However, I'd like to point out that Mayo Clinic Connect offers 24/7 support online here in the discussion forums.

To help me connect you with others like you, can you tell me a bit more about yourself? What is the cause of your renal failure? Are you on dialysis? Is kidney transplant an option for you? What would you like me to know about you?

I am checking for a patient. I work in dialysis. She is new to dialysis and the Rochester area and looking for a support group.

@judyaca Although this is not an in-person support group, I "attend" virtually, one of the support groups hosted by Renal Support Network at rsnhope.org. The president and founder, Lori Hartwell, is based in Los Angeles. She is a kidney patient for over 50 years. This might be a good option?

@judyaca, I hope you will introduce your patient to Mayo Clinic Connect and the Kidney group. In particular, I think she might enjoy the discussion here:
- What's your experience with dialysis? Give & get support here https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/support-for-dialysis-patients/

She will receive a warm welcome, support and knowledge exchange.
