Ejection problems

I am having ejection problems that seem to increase my blood pressure. Morning pressure is low but increases as day goes on up to high levels. Looking for comments

Exboater, how are you currently managing your blood pressure?

Hi @exboater

I appreciate your post about EF and blood pressure. I, too, have diastolic dysfunction "DD" (stiff heart), and taking a specific blood pressure med, referred to as an ACE inhibitor has helped a great deal. It has lowered my somewhat high BP and has also helped me to feel better. I'm still not as energetic as I was before the diagnosis of DD. As you know, it is not curable, but it is treatable with BP meds. I hope that you look at the video that Colleen sent you in the post above. My personal experience showed that my EF did increase when I started taking the ACE inhibitor med.

Here is some information on ACE inhibitors from Mayo Clinic's website, https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/high-blood-pressure/in-depth/ace-inhibitors/art-20047480.

@exboater, What symptoms do you relate to this problem with EF? Are you currently taking an ACE Inhibitor med?

I am currently using ace inhibitor. Also found that sodium is one of my major problems. If my sodium level gets up , My blood pressure will get up as much as 165/60 and stay there . Works like this pressure is low, around 100. As the day goes on. My pressure will climb up and stay there until I go to bed. Next day same problem. When increase my sodium pill to 2 per day and change my diet to lower my sodium intake I will lose weight and my blood pressure will stay down all day.

Hi @exboater

It sounds like you have found the key to keeping your blood pressure down, at least as it relates to sodium. What does your doctor say about this?

I'm wondering if you have had a stress test or any other diagnostic tests related to the heart?

My "stiff heart" is related to heart valve issues, mainly aortic insufficiency. Do you have any valve issues?

Moderate exercise is so helpful. Do you have a moderate exercise program?
