I'm also having continuing pain post hip replacement, especially groin pain. Physical therapy makes it worse. The surgeon took a regular xray and said he saw nothing wrong. He has no suggestions as to what I can do to solve this problem. When I told him the pain was worse than it was pre-surgery, he seemed insulted. I'm thinking of changing doctors and wonder what tests I should ask for to get a clearer picture of what's wrong. Any ideas?

yes, definetly..ortho dr isneeded and an mri test, (no radiation) is warranted

I agree, ask for an MRI. That's the test that finally diagnosed the hip effusion and led to the hip aspiration which showed that I had metallosis and needed a revisiion.

Change doctors first. They resent when you are not satisfied with their treatment and if you insist on an MRI with him, he will be forever argumentative and challenging. Not worth the stress.
