ureterosigmoidostomy

Posted by engelee @engelee, Oct 6, 2011

born with bladder exposed on abdomen and solution was to take ureters and internally anastamose them to the sigmoid. There are no portals outside my bodt. This procedure no longer done--much updating) I struggle with metabolic issues, and potential for Cancer which I think may be less because I have had this 59 years and Mayo's has not seen anybody who has had this set-up for 48 years I go every year to Mayo---I have developed alotof weakness in my thighs and legs generally and alot of fatigue

@icornelu

JHK has seen many like us, Mayo seems to have limited interest in our profiles. BE female older + ureterosigm. Seems the craze is about new born babies with BE and new technologies .

I had no choice, but before that knew I was developing some serious side effects. My life hung in the balance with 2 episodes of sepsis.

Public bathroom, I keep my weight down, cholesterol very improved because of diet,I so value my friends more than ever before.

I am 72. Over 69 years ,I will give short examples: never stay over its with girlfriend because high risk of incontinence , over the years my electrolytes were always a moderate to severe problem, had to explain eveything to college roommate, nausea, no sLt diet,sphincter control started to deteriorate, most Mds didn’t know how to treat, wake up every night soaking with incontinence, no foods that cause gas—went up to kidneys, bathing suits hard to wear, anemia became severe, 02xgen saturation low, therefore fatigue ( mast cell disease) lower lumbar fused, /. Now I sleep, values have changed—so value my God and my friends,. Some fatigue but I’m not getting younger, don’t like equipment have to deal with, more restricted diet, can’t tolerate heat. I could go on but my ostomies are gifts fromGod . Ioffer the negative aspects up for people who have nobody to pray for them.—-therefore very hard for me to talk about negative aspects —they are opportunities.
