@@jenniferhunter Hi my name is Catherine. I can't take anykind of those hormone replacement pills, because my cardiologist told me no, because it will effect my electrical problems with my heart. How can I prevent it hurting me when I have sexual intercourse with my husband? It only hurts when he first goes in, and once he is in the pain goes down a lot, but we have tried lots of lueberkins, but it still is not working. Will you please let me no what we can try so it doesn't hurt when I have sexual relations with my husband please?

Hi, @catherinelewis - Here are some resources that may be helpful to you as you work on solving the problem of painful intercourse without taking hormone replacement pills:

– On painful intercourse: https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/painful-intercourse/symptoms-causes/syc-20375967 (see especially the Diagnosis and Treatment page where it talks about medications and other treatments)

- Mayo Clinic Q&A on sex after menopause: https://newsnetwork.mayoclinic.org/discussion/mayo-clinic-q-and-a-sex-after-menopause/ (the doctor interviewed talks about an oral medication)

The doctor interviewed for the Q&A suggests talking to your doctor about options that would be right for you and your situation. Have you had the chance to talk to your primary care provider or OB/GYN about options to help with the painful intercourse that would not have ill effects on your heart?
