I understand you can get platelet and blood transfusions, but what treatment is available for white blood cells of 1.92?

Hello @dell060969,

If you are comfortable doing so, would you mind sharing what blood disorder you have that has caused your white blood cells to dip to 1.92? It may help other members relate more easily so that they can offer some incite and suggestions.

sorry, was pushed for time, didnt think. my husband has myeloid dysplasia, more specifically RAEB, and his white blood cells plummeted recently, which required hospitalization and blood and platelet transfusions. I believe they call it neutropenic when the whites get low enough to cause a fever. Scary stuff, wondered if anyone else had experienced this.

P.S. they gave him alot of antibiotics IV style to bring the fever down and hopefully, white cells would go up.
