On the Mayo Clinic Q&A podcast, Dr. Gregory Poland, an infectious diseases expert and head of Mayo Clinic’s Vaccine Research Group, covers the latest news on the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr. Poland discusses current outbreak numbers, why there may be a second wave of infections, and research on a vaccine.

To practice safe social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic, this interview was conducted using video conferencing. The sound and video quality are representative of the technology used.

He is a paid scientific adviser for Johnson & Johnson. Honoraria: Elsevier.

@smokie- The CDC has published a warning against taking this medicine for COVID-19. I won't speak for the doctor, but I doubt that he would.

Thank you, but sadly. no. I am speaking of people like myself who don't run the video at all - and ONLY want to/need to read the transcript. (Many Americans lack access to the internet making video impossible, while reading is still do- able thru mobile data)

My point is simply that in posting only podcasts and videos, without transcripts, Mayo is seriously out of touch.

@caroleramsay- I understand. I have forwarded your comments to her. I would have to say that Mayo is the top hospital in the country and cater to millions of people who do have computers. How are you familiar with the videos and podcasts if you don't have the internet?
