The Power of Hope
There are times, circumstances, life's trials and tribulations that often cause one to lose hope. I know how it feels to feel so hopeless that nothing seems worth it anymore.. It is a horrible state of mind to be in! Then, something or someone comes along and renews that sense of meaning and having faith that this too shall pass. The past year has been very challenging, stressful, depressing and I felt so hopeless.
I am in a different place today and I owe it to my friends at Mayo, family, peers, wonderful doctors and my faith that was surely tested over and over.
How has hope positively impacted your life??

Oh dear...I forgot to mention that my little doggie, Mammie, has brought a lot of joy to my life...
For me my dear friends faith and hope go hand in hand. I no that over the past 6 months and my dear friends who have carried me through this time and I'm forever grateful, that my faith never faltered, and know I am living with the hope of things that have just turned around for me.
We need to live for know and follow our dreams and when we need to rely on the ones that really care for us to hold us up for a while. Take care Piglit

1 Reactioni have been suffering for years and everyone thinks im crazy and wants to put me in impatient treatment for anxiety when im just sick, im on waiting list for mayo but its not for a long time. im praying but im losing hope more and more.
Hi sweetie never give up hope things will get better. Maybe see if you can get an earlier appoinment.I have suffered with anxiety from a very young age and fully understand how you are feeling. Take care here if you just need to talk Piglit
ty, i really hope so. i pray 24/7 i can barely eat and have chronic eye straighn headache so im always in pain. im really scared though. my appt is nov and theres no way to get in sooner and no one realizies im really sick and its getting worse over years and they wanna impatient me in sept but i dont wanna go there after dealing with a previous bad experience at a hospital and i want experts at mayo to hopefully help me. my faith is majorly being tested lately.
You no at times I think that our faith is tested and we are at times challenged more that we should be . But I also beleive that this makes us stronger and in the end our faith will continue to give us the strength that we need. I can tell that your scared and it's so not a good feeling I know this. Not every experience with a hospital has to be a bad one maybe you should trust and go earlier. I have had not so good experiences over the years too, but I have also had excellent ones to. Hi All,
Thank you for responding and making me feel like I am not alone.. I too often feel like hope is lost and then I see a glimpse of it.. I really get upset at the saying "WHAT DOES NOT KILL US ONLY MAKES US STRONGER". sometimes, because when we take beating after beating we don't always feel stronger. Nonethless, we have to believe that life has to get better for all of us...how much should we be expected to suffer??
