Send Mayo Clinic nurses a Thank You!

Casey, a nurse in the Cardiac ICU @ Mayo is truly a skilled angel. Her patience, love, knowledge , and expertise were exceptional! Hugs to her especially, but to all the nurses at mayo, both cardiac ICU and the Cardiac floor!

To all the great Nurses everywhere, But a special call out to the ICU and 4th floor nurses at Mayo Phoenix that helped me and we're so pleasant to my Wife and I. As the Pillow reflects there were many of you that signed my pillow. Your all awesome and I miss not being able to visit the 4th floor at Mayo Phoenix but you're all in my thoughts and Prayers. I'm sure God has a special place for all of you.

I had cataract surgery in 2017 and breast surgery in 2019 in Rochester. Unfortunately, I do not remember the names of the nurses that cared for me. However, all of them were competent, caring and helpful.
Never have I been treated at any other facility like Mayo Clinic. The nurses are in a class of their own.
They are Angels doing God’s work-healing the sick.

Yes, the nurses and physicians are outstanding. I come from California for treatment of my heart failure. It is a model for every hospital system. Hope you are doing well.

Thank you to Laura Waksdahl who held my hand in the operating room and who kindly answered my questions and spoke with me on the phone when I was nervous in the weeks before my surgery. I always felt better after I talked to her. She also helped by scheduling a follow up on a day that my surgeon would be wearing his scrubs so I could get photos of him. We surprised Dr. Fogelson with my offer to paint his portrait after my recovery, and Laura helped make that happen and she knew that he would love it. She came to see me in my room after surgery, and made my journey as a patient easier. She was excited the day we unveiled the portrait at my one year follow up appointment. This was a few years ago, and now she works in an administrative role.

Thank you to Genaida Benson who isn't just an nurse who works in the imaging departments, but also a virtuoso at the piano. I had returned to Mayo for ankle surgery and she played a concert just for me after her shift was over and gave me her blessings. She shares her musical talent and positive outlook. Since we connected, I stop to say hello when I return for my followup appointments and she has been happy to see my progress in rehabbing my ankle. She represents the very best of Mayo with her joyful spirit.

Thank you to all of the health care professionals and RN's at Mayo Clinic Rochester that got me through my right knee replacement surgery, 2 cataract surgeries, Mayo's sleep medicine therapist who shared some valuable tips to help me adjust to using a CPAP and last but not least Ryan my PA for an Orthopedic consult for the tips and help getting a guided cortisone shot in the right spot for my hip. Love Mayo Clinic's patient centered care.

Thank you not only to Mayo Clinic nurses, but nurses everywhere. I have been fortunate to have outstanding nurses at times when it felt so confusing, and adrift in a sea of uncertainty. Their skill and compassion, and passion for doing their job, is reflective of what it means to know you've chosen the right career!

It has been a long hard road for the past ten years. From Cancer, to COPD, Pneumonia, Flu, Hospitals, ICU, and rehab. My very sincere and heartfelt thank you goes out to all the nurses I have encountered during this journey. I firmly believe if not for their kind care many outcomes may have been different. You have chosen a difficult profession, but never think the patient will ever forget you.
The gratitude goes out to all the other CRNA, Aids, etc. and those that take on a job such as theirs.
