Experience with the intratympanic injection procedure for SSHL?

My daughter, 27, woke on Feb. 26 deaf in her right ear. Doctors treated her for infection with antibiotics. She did have a 3-day course of Prednisone within about 4-5 days of the onset, but it seemed her hearing loss was not of great concern to doctors at that time. Finally securing a referral for an ENT, she began a 10-day course of Prednisone on March10. An MRI revealed no tumor but a vascular loop. Otolaryngologist is recommending the injection procedure. I am fearful for this...is there hope it can bring her hearing back or will it just further exacerbate the pressure and ringing she is already experiencing?

How scary for both and your daughter. Is the hearing loss in both ears?

May I ask what the provider(s) are saying her prognosis is?
