Streaming Resound Preza8/Quatro8

Posted by hearingpeg @hearingpeg, Jan 8, 2021

For some reason, I cannot get my Iphone to stream into my hearing aid (which I could until recently). I now have a SE Iphone and my hearing aid is a Resound Quatro8/Preza8 from Costco. I had been using the Resound Smart app. When I looked at the Resound web site, it says use the Smart 3D app. When I click on this, it says to "Open" which I click on. While my Iphone says that they are paired, the streaming does not occur. Any suggestions?

I did try that. No luck.

Costco set it up and checked it for me.

If they checked it since you had the problem, then I don't know. My Bluetooth seems to go off occasionally even though I didn't knowingly turn it off.

@hearingpeg Check the Accessibility options in the iPhone settings. Your hearing aids should show up there. I'm not familiar with the newer iPhones, but on my 6S+, I can triple press the home button to see that my hearing aids can be seen by the phone.

You need to go into settings, then accessibility, then hearing devices and they should show up at the top of the screen. If they don't show up you are not connected. If not connected you need to open the battery case on each aid to turn them off, then turn them back on and your iphone se will look for them and find them and reconnect. That should do it.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. What was very strange was that I was able to pair the phone to my HAs, but the streaming funcition wasn't happening. All of the steps you recommended were very helpful. What finally did the trick was to delete the app, reinstall it, and then go through all of the recommended steps. Thanks again!

Yes, hearingpeg, been there done that, too; in fact with the Phonak I did that a lot. They would become unpared, and nothing else would work but to delete the app, forget the hearing aids and start over.

@hearingpeg May I ask if you went to the Costco store you purchased from?

No, I did not visit the Costco store (Montgomerville, PA) to fix the problem. I would have if I continued to not be able to troubleshoot, but I'm glad I was able to fix the problem without doing so during this pandemic. Thanks for the website.
