Was wondering if anyone here had their lung cancer spread to your kidney?

I had nudules spread to kidneys, cells to stomach and left lung. Large tumor in right lung. Had chemo every 21 days from March thru September 2019. Have been on keytruda ever since. Quit chem .My choice as I got really sick from chemo. Last cat screen 12/08/2020 the nodule disappeared. All’s good for know. I too have stage 4 non small cell adenocarcinoma.

I’ve had surgery as I was a stage 3a so they removed two lobes in right lung! Chemo next as they discovered that I had cancer in my lymph nodes! The oncologist told me I was NED. But I had pain in my right side my primary doctor ordered a ultrasound and I had spread in my diaphragm and on my adrenaline gland. So I had radiation and started immunotherapy I had 4 rounds of immunotherapy and ended up with a small stroke and very painful arthritis so they stopped treatments. But are watching me and the cancer is spreading slowly? Not sure what is next for me.

@erv58- Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect.

It's always such a horrible feeling to be told that you have cancer, and worse yet, that it has metastasized. You have three lobes on your right side and 2 on your left. I have my lower right and upper left lobes gone. I don't need oxygen as yet, do you?

I am a mentor for the lung cancer group and the lung health groups for Connect. I also have NSCLC, but it's different than yours. Some lung cancers are known for metastasizing to other areas of the body like the brain and breast and liver. Lung cancer that spreads to the kidney is rather rare. Do you know what type of NSCLC you have? Squamous cell lung cancer, or squamous cell carcinoma of the lung, is one type of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) that has shown to metastasize to the kidney. @richcolleen what kind of cancer is your lung cancer?

Now that your treatments have ended what have the doctors indicated that they will do if it continues to spread other than watch? Do you have help at home?

@erv58- Good morning. My cancer was found by accident too, but I knew that something was up. It still came as a shock! What are your plans now?

At this time I’m getting Chest CT scans only every 6 months. No plans are in place at this time.
