Thumper Musing

A few minutes ago, probably about 8:58 p.m. CDT I resignedly uprighted the recliner and announced to my wife, “well I guess I’ll head for the rodeo in the spare bedroom.” “Rodeo,?” she said. “Yep,”says I. “Time to ride ole Thumper again.”
So here I sit. All hosed up to my snazzy, surely Super Deluxe Respirtech “Incourage” airway clearing system. Delivered a few years ago F.O.B. my home by a nice lady who even taught me how to use it. $1400. Bucks and change; that’s what Respirtech peddles it for. And get this: Medicare bought it for me. They must have discovered what good guy I am. Thanks for payin’ your tax.

Half an hour twice daily, often passing the time as my brain gets machine-scrambled by spinning whimsical yarns for fellow sufferers and habitués of the Mayo Connect Bronch/MAC forum. Thus it is this fine evening. Later, Don

@migizii. Although I’ve heard the term “thumper” before, I think I will adopt it too......I get the same luxury while also doing the albuterol and 7%saline solution too....such fun times🤪

Go right ahead migizii, I hold no Copyright on it. I think I first heard of a “Thumper” in a Disney movie; he (or she) was a Rabbit who could create quite a percussive sound with its foot. Don

My daughter, before birth, was quite a kicker. Our nickname for her was Thumper, and it stuck through her first few years, because she kicked while she slept. It came from a child's book of the same name that we read to our nephew many times.
Brings back memories.

Pleasantly nostalgic memories I’d bet.

Happy Sunday thumper time, @thumperguy. You'll notice that I moved your most recent thumper musing to the earlier discussion you started by the same name "Thumper Musing" https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/thumper-musing/. Adding thumper musings in one discussion thread, each with a title for the new entry, could turn into an interesting journal for members to follow and comment on.

I look forward to your continued musings. Keep calm and thumper on.

Okay Colleen. Should I alter where I post or do you handle the traffic directing?
