THR: leakage from a wound still 2 years later

yes, total hip replacement, twice with two surgeries inbetewen all I hear is ,,well too bad,, we cant do anything else good luck,, go away.

Hi @spot, I can certainly understand just wanting to get better. There is an older post by @50surgeries who was having unbearable pain from a six year old hip replacement where the surgeon was hesitant to fix it with another hip replacement due to the possibility of infection. thanks for the links. my pain is not too bad. its the bloody leakage from the incision and the piece of wire that is attached to somethingand sticking out of the incision tthats awfull. had sverel docs look at it after I refused to see the one that did it as he said there was nothing he could do anymore but cut my leg off and he refused to even look at the weeping wound, the problem with a second opinion is that docs refusue to help after another doc messed it up. docs seem to say, I am perfect and incapable of a mistake, threrfore any problem is your fault,, you did something wrong. I know I sound like a whiner but I have the xrays to prove my point, and again I don't care what happened, I just want to stop bleeding, I can handle the new hip, it seems to working fine

Have you thought about contacting the hospital where the surgery was done and seeing if they have a patient advocate you can talk with to get a resolution and get the wound care you need? There's also a Patient Advocate Foundation (https://www.patientadvocate.org/) that might be able to help.

thanks for the links. I will try the advocate link. don't know how long its been since you needed a doc, but I think you might not know that after you get messed up by one doc, no other doc will touch you with a ten foot pole. I have been to three other hospitals with this wound, and a wound center. The answer is always the same. I cant help you and I won't even look at it I was hopeing to find someone that had a similar problem and found out how to get it resolved. I have gone through over 5 thousand 2x4 bandaids Thanks again for your interest and your suggestions
