@camillaengelshardt, I add my welcome. You can find more information about coming to Mayo Clinic as an international patient on this webpage:
- International Patient Services here https://www.mayoclinic.org/departments-centers/international
You can call or submit a form online with your request for a second opinion https://www.mayoclinic.org/forms/international-patient-appointment

Cancer is a top specialty at Mayo Clinic. Once you submit information about your mom, Mayo Clinic specialists review test results, medical history and clinical findings, and discuss with you if there are options to consider beyond what is available in your country, and whether a trip to Mayo Clinic is warranted. Mayo’s goal is to provide the best care each patient needs, but does not want you to incur additional costs for evaluation or travel if there is not care to offer that is different from what your mom is already receiving or being offered.

Camilla, I realize being told that surgery is not possible can be difficult to hear. However surgery is not the only effective treatment option. Take your time to research immunotherapy for lung cancer. Some types of lung cancers respond well to immunotherapy, for example lung tumors with high levels of the protein PD-L1.

Do you know if your mom's cancer has been evaluated for markers like PD-L1, CTLA-4, etc.?
