Help me please only 27!!!

Posted by 10987654321 @10987654321, Sep 29, 2020

Help, I feel like I’m slowly dying. My vision is blurry me left eye is not focusing and has pressure. Pain in nose. I have hearing loss and ringing. My head is cognitively impaired and fogged. I’m extremely dizzy and fatigue. I constantly feel like I’m going to pass out. I have neuropathy and numbness in my extremities. I’m nauseous all the time. I’m short of breath. My face is swollen.

What is wrong? Been dismissed as anxiety. I had to quit my job over this and lay down most of the day. Please help me please.

@10987654321- I feel I need to mention w/ the link I provided, that is by no means a diagnosis as I am not a professional in this area. It is just an array of different neurological symptoms that have been known to occur, after a nasal/sinus procedure.
The nasal/sinus function is part of the autonomic nervous system. The cranial nerves that innervate the sinus/nasal cavity are very strong and have a powerful connection w/ the parasympathetic nervous system (fight or flight response). This can cause a cascade of other events when not in homeostasis. So it is just a suggestion to not rule out working with people who fully understand the cranial nerves and the cross over into other parts of the body’s CNS (central nervous system). If check back and have any questions, I’d be more than happy to answer where I can.

I think I have empty nose syndrome as my nose is dry and crusty and all screwed up. It was never right after surgery. However, I think something else happened that caused all the rest of this too... maybe an infection or something?

This suggestion by Teresa @hopeful33250 makes a ton of sense to me. The symptoms as you describe them sound so diverse and kind of random, and being in your twenties and formerly healthy prior to your surgery last April, it really does sound like you might have "caught" something very bad. One thing you mentioned is having been diagnosed with sensory polyneuropathy. Who diagnosed that and what tests (if any) were done to arrive at that conclusion? Even if you have developed neuropathy, that would not begin to explain all else that is going on. You have mentioned covid (and I recall Jennifer @jenniferhunter suggesting that back in August as well). I am wondering if an infectious disease doctor would be of service to you in figuring this out? (I know, you have already seen practically every doctor known to man, but really, this might be the right direction to steer toward).

Oh my goodness, I feel so much compassion for you in this! Try to remain calm and perhaps reassess the direction you have been pursuing, I believe Teresa is on to something. Best to you, Hank

I had an emg last year that came back with sensory demylenating polynnejropathy

No one did anything

Then they did another emg and said it was fine (different network)

Now I can barely walk my muscles are becoming increasingly weak (I have developed weird hairs my kneee bows in and my hips away when I walk and my legs wobble and my wrist feels limp)

I’m also losing feeling however I can still scratch the outside it’s more the inside like how my joints and feet are supposed to work (it’s almost like a hollow weak muscle feeling)

I can barely walk through the store with a shipping cart

Recently they told me I don’t want to go back to work and to go to physical therapist and pain clinic (it’s more lack of feeling when pain) physical therapist I can barely even walk in building

They told me it’s made up and it’s functional/conversion disorder

Def not made up I feel pretty helpless and really scared

@10987654321 With all that is the matter with you I think this would be a good Mayo visit . Mayo is a research hospital and will keep looking till they find out the problem. Is it possible for you to go to Mayo try to get an appointment . DO you have a patient advocate for yourself? This can be a family friend of someone else . I found a professional advocacy here is there number 8005325279 also if it is a non profit advocacy they are free of charge . Good luck may God be with you and heal you

@10987654321-I am telling you the same thing happened to me. What you are describing exactly. After my sinus surgery. The way you are describing how you walk etc...
I was told by the ENT when I went back for follow up and complaints, that I had “conversion disorder” also.
They seem to have a script for this.

Before I was completely fine. Physically and mentally fit, more than 100% healthy.

Afterwards, the same things you are describing happened to me.

You can private message me if you would like. And I can explain what I have learned.

My questions for you are:
•What were your presenting symptoms that took you to an ENT, with whom conducted surgery?

•What was the exact surgery performed, meaning the anatomy and areas?

•Have you obtained a post surgical scan and different ENT opinions?

I can try to give you more advice, I just need a little more detail on your experience.

Be careful of people who are giving you random diagnosis, causing you more anxiety while going through this. If they don’t know your history it is not helpful if they are giving guidance based on symptoms that are a cause of a bigger picture.

Did you ever find out what was wrong? How are you doing now?

I presume you’ve been seen by medical doctors and have turned to this forum for answers to your ailment issues they couldn’t provide or you were unwilling to accept. Your symptoms sound like sinus, TMJ, eye but nothing definitive no I wonder if you’ve considered seeing a psychotherapists? Since you have PN like many of us you most likely are on some medications. Could your medication be causing some of the neurologic symptoms? People often forget about our mental status and how intricate a role it plays in our health. I hope you find answers.
