Dizziness: I'm searching for the unknown cause

Posted by lois6524 @lois6524, Aug 17, 2020

I woke up one morning very dizzy -- called PCP office and after answering a number of questions, I was encouraged to go to the emergency room -- they did lots of lab work, CT scan, MRI -- stayed overnight to monitor me -- ruled out stroke, brain tumor, and brain bleed -- also vestibuler problems (ear crystals out of alignment) -- have see 2 doctors and a PT person, all three told me to see a neurologist -- my symptoms are dizziness, pain in forehead above the eyes (like a headache), very tired, nausea. I have looked online at a number of sites, and the reason that are listed for dizziness, don't seem to fit --- ANYONE have any thoughts as to what is going on -- I can't get in to see a neurologist until the beginning of September, and this has been going on since July 20

HI, may I ask which decongestant and how often? Two years without a sinus infection is pretty good going!

Thanks! I had been taking one at night and things got better and so I stopped. But now the sinusitis is back so I was interested to see you have kept it away by continuing the guaifenisin.

@bride, this may be a longshot, but I used to have chronic sinusitis every winter. Over the counter nasal sprays helped but taking antibiotics solved the problem. I hoped for a better solution. One doctor finally asked if I drank a lot of water. I had not but decided to drink more water during the winter months. I have not had sinusitis since.

Thank you, Tony! We tend to ignore the simple solutions. And this is one that can't hurt! I don't drink a lot of water but will certainly up my intake. It fits with the advice in a book on sinusitis where the author said the key is to "keep the river of liquid flowing from the sinuses".
