@artscaping My biggest issue is my muscle pain. Some times it hurts and other times it aches to the bone. I could cry sometimes. It is a level 10 most days. My pain doctor at Mayo said it also could be caused by my hemochromatosis plus the fibromyalgia. It is very frustrating. I hurt so bad I can't do much at one so my husband is getting upset with me. So now I have stress too.

Good afternoon @suzanne2,

Thanks for being so prompt. Here is what my mind understood from your response. You are struggling with a pain-causing condition, fibromyalgia, and a substance overabundance, (iron). The only medication you are taking for the pain is Neurontin aka Gabapentin. I think I might be doing more than just thinking about crying. I am so sorry for how it is right now. Connect's mission is to help you improve the quality of life.

Here I go with the questions....please share as you feel comfortable.

Have you asked your Mayo pain clinician about the use of medical cannabis? My own protocol allows for different types of discomfort from different nerves within the body. And yet.....the relief can be within 15-45 minutes and last for 3-4 hours.

Have you discussed your level of pain and what might be called pain fatigue with your husband? Our loved ones sometimes just don't know what to say or do. And men, in my experience, are Mr. Fixits. They want to find out what is wrong, what will fix it, and then wait for it to be over. When that doesn't work, they tend to feel helpless and sad.

Relationship issues can increase stress and anxiety as you mentioned. Anxiety leads to pain and on and on. Has anyone talked to you about anti-anxiety medications? That alone can reduce your pain level.

Can you remember the last time you were pain-free? Can you share with me what that felt like?

May you be safe and protected from inner and outer harm.

Chris

@suzanne2 Hello. I'm Rachel and I am playing a bit of catch up on older posts. I see you started this conversation and @colleenyoung mentioned me for possible non prescribed pain relief products. My apologies for missing this. I've read through some of your posts and see @artscaping mentioned medical marijuana. I agree with her. I also read how you describe your deep aching, to the bone pain, and that you dont know where to find a prescribing Dr for medical marijuana. I'm wondering if you have further considered use of the product or made progress in finding a prescribing Dr? I have Small Fiber Polyneuropathy and also experience severe deep aching, mostly in my legs. When this ache flares, medical marijuana and heat are the only things that provide relief. I feel bad about your pain and am so impressed by your tenacity to keep persevering despite your ailments. I believe I read you taught children still?!? Remarkable! As far as you feeling like medical marijuana use makes you feel as if you are doing something illegal...I totally get that. Me too! It took me some time to wrap my mind around the fact that it was legal, it was justified, and it helped my pain. If you're feeling up to it, I'd love to hear how you are doing and if you've made any progress in finding non prescribed pain relief.

Best wishes to you,
Rachel
