Medicare Part B Drug Coverage: Trouble Filling Immunosuppressive Drugs

Posted by rfriend50 @rfriend50, Aug 12, 2020

I would like to know if anyone else is having difficulties with filling immunosuppressive drug prescriptions that are covered under Medicare Part B.
It appears as though in my case the agency responsible for approving these is requiring a NEW Prescription each month. Medicare is unaware of this and claims not to have control over the agency. (CGS LLC located in Nashville TN)

What pharmacy are you using? That would be helpful to the group so we can make sure we don’t use them

Hi, @rfriend50 I had my transplant almost four years ago and have had no trouble with filling my immunosuppressant prescriptions monthly. They will only do a month at a time but they always fill in plenty of time. The prescriptions are filled by a CVS specialty pharmacy in Boston and sent to me via UPS. I live in southern NH. Right now I’m in Maine and they were due so they sent them to a CVS up here.

My copay is negligible.
