Update on my DRG stimulator Implant. Implanted 12 days ago.

Posted by lorirenee1 @lorirenee1, Jul 21, 2020

Hi all my fellow Neuropathy Warriors, Just wanted to update you on this DRG stimulator in me. Basically, so far, not so good. It seems to help pain in the morning, pain from a 9-10, to about a 5-6, maybe a 4, at times. As the day goes on, pain gets worse. Nights are still bad. Yesterday was the first time I walked outside. I walked around the block twice, and it was wonderful to smell fresh air, use my legs, etc. However, when I came back into my house, I felt like my feet were on fire for a few hours. Another thing that I have noticed in general, is foot exhaustion. Sometimes I feel like I have ran a 35 mile marathon, and that I need endless foot massage. All in all, so far, not real good. Going to my pain doc tomorrow and will also meet my ABBOTT rep there. In hindsight, I really wish I had more good days during the trial of my DRG. I had only 3 improved days; days 7-10, and then, the doc had to remove the DRG due to risk of infection. I wish I had more good sample days!!! I am praying, of course, as my nerves in the lumbar DRG area heal, I will improve. So far, not really worth doing. Saddens me beyond belief. Thank God for Kratom. I just sent my Kratom company a "love letter." I do not know what I would do without that product, and may advocate for Kratom. What the hell! Gotta put my energy into something positive!!! Maybe some chocolate chip icecream, too. Love to each of you, Lori Renee

@sunnyflower That is kind of odd. Yeah, if I go to the very top I do see the 3 horizontal lines on the right. Wish I was sitting there with you looking at your phone right now. That sure beats all, as far as I can see. I'm sorry Sunny, wish I could do more. Maybe @johnbishop or @colleenyoung has more on this problem of yours. So sorry, Hank

As stated a few minutes ago, no 3 lines at top on Connect posts like I do when on text. But have figured out how to get there. S.

Hi @sunnyflower, when you say "when I'm on a Connect post" I'm wondering if you are still looking at the email notification that you receive when a new message is posted. In the email at the bottom of the message you will see a blue button VIEW & REPLY. That takes you to the message in the discussion thread and to the Connect website.

Once you're on the website, you'll see the 3-line menu that @jesfactsmon is referring to.

Hi Coleen, yes, I've used the blue, "View and Reply" field for all of my replies. I wasn't aware there was another way to reply to a singular post from my email. Yes, when that field takes me to where I can reply, there is an envelope at the top right of the page but stilll no 3 lines. I find it easier to private message someone from the portion of their post that comes to me by email, right from my email, by holding down their Mayo name which takes me to them and the PM option which I think is a little to the left and just below their name. Hope that makes sense. I'm always looking for the easy way b/c of hand/finger pain and mobility issues. I wish there were an easier, less time required way to say one like's a message. Where I could do it right from their post or a portion of their post right from that email. I realize I may miss some of the post but sometimes I can't read them all as there are so many. I can see that I agree w/ some good direction or opinion given and know that I'm not capable to reply to the rest of what I can read on my email post so no need to go into it b/c I have no comment. Thanks so much for the good tips, Sunnyflower 😊

@sunnyflower Sunny, don't stress. You won't miss much if you aren't able to read a complete post from someone. You are such a sweetheart, no one will be offended if you don't respond, don't hit the "like" button, and aren't able to read the whole message. You will never miss too much here because someone's always got a new issue of some sort to discuss that demands your "immediate" attention.. Best, Hank

@sunnyflower @jesfactsmon I think what you see depends on 2 things - the device - iPhone vs Android and the web browser Safari vs Chrome vs whatever Android uses. Also tablet mode makes the user interface more like a computer and can show you more. I see the three horizontal bars on my iPhone using Safari.

@lorirenee1 That is good news. I don't know anything about the DRG stimulator you had installed. I don't much about my nerve stimulator. I'm glad there is some light at the end of the tunnel.

Lorirenee1, thanks for sharing. I talked to 3 people about 6 months ago who had the DRG implanted by a certain doctor. Two had severe pain in their feet and another had a leg problem. All three got significant relief , like 85 to 90 percent. They all highly recommended the procedure. No daily charging is a plus. Maybe it's the skill of the doctor ding the procedure and the reps. I'm happy to hear you are getting some relief. God bless.
