Visual Escapes and Daily Inspirations: Share Yours

Let's create a space to offer a daily reprieve.

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought a lot of uncertainty and fear into our lives. Some of that fear and uncertainty can be caused by over thinking what is going on or unnecessarily worrying. So, I'm making sure I wash my hands frequently, not touching my face, staying away from social gatherings and all of the recommended guidelines to help avoid getting or spreading COVID-19 but it can be a little boring. I try to not watch news all day long while I'm in this self imposed captivity. I like to take pictures of birds and other creatures from my window as a welcome break.

I invite you to join me in sharing pictures, favorite poems, sayings, mottos, funny moments. Let's take a daily break together.

@zeiracorp Wow, where do you live? You work in the city and what do you do? Since you carry a gun I suspect a police officer. I live in the suburbs of Des Moines. My niece is a detective and her x-husband is head of the sharp shooters (sorry can't think of their real name) but they have had riots too and my niece is no longer out on the street, but she was scared when she was because if someone was going to attact her where she would have to shoot him/her, she didn't feel her uppers would support her. I don't know what it's like now, but her x-has to be there all the time because he heads the group. Bears, when we lived in Seattle up on a plateua (SP) by Issaquah. There were a lot of trees and empty space across from us. So was told we might see a bear. Never did and then they built the largest development across the street from us. Took so many trees out and burned them, when they were suppose to haul them away. I had my first asthma attack I have ever had from all the smoke and ash. We reported them. We are back in our home state of Iowa, but do miss Seattle. By the way we ended up moving to a different house away from the huge development. Hey, I don't have asthma anymore.

Update on Magz. She is growing every day and my daughter recently taught her to fetch. It was a rainy day here in JAX, so they had a game of catch and return in the Florida Room.

@fiesty76 How funny! I didn't see the dog run around the house, but on the bed. It's amazing how he/she got them in the mouth exactly as we would wear them. Thank you. You made my day.

@lioness, I know I have a strange sense of humor but visualizing bears relaxing in swimming pools nearby is hilarious...as long as you aren't out at the pools with them! Thanks for the laugh.

@lilypaws, Your story makes me think of what happened to me. For years I burned firewood in my fireplace; for years I had extended bouts of chronic bronchitis that lasted months on end...allergy tests, steroids, breathing treatments, the works. Allergist thought it might be due to the large cotton ginning done here; occasionally, bouts would occur in spring but usually in late fall/winter. One yr I decided to see if I could do without my beautiful fires in the fireplace...Wallah!! no bronchitis...and no more wood fires. No doc had suggested this nor had I ever mentioned my love of firewood to them. Amazing...now three years later and not a single bronchitis flare up. We both truly have cause for celebration!
