Visual Escapes and Daily Inspirations: Share Yours

Let's create a space to offer a daily reprieve.

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought a lot of uncertainty and fear into our lives. Some of that fear and uncertainty can be caused by over thinking what is going on or unnecessarily worrying. So, I'm making sure I wash my hands frequently, not touching my face, staying away from social gatherings and all of the recommended guidelines to help avoid getting or spreading COVID-19 but it can be a little boring. I try to not watch news all day long while I'm in this self imposed captivity. I like to take pictures of birds and other creatures from my window as a welcome break.

I invite you to join me in sharing pictures, favorite poems, sayings, mottos, funny moments. Let's take a daily break together.

@lilllypaws Did I ever tell you of the time I had an encounter with one? Repeat then . We where up at out cabin in Northern Pa. I just went in the woods ,sat down when here comes a snow out right to me I ducked and he shot up like an arrow. It was beautiful . My eye got a close look at it I could see every part of the owl . Never forget it .

The spindly rose bush, a yellow floribunda type, has decided to bloom it's silly head off! This is the first of about two dozen blooms that will grace our yard in next few days!

Hello- I love nature and all its wildlife. In particular, I'd love to share with you a video about eagles, all kinds of eagles. This is what helps me keep at least one foot on the ground during tense times. About 5 years or so ago a friend introduced me to a family of Bald Eagles on the Raptor Resource Site. I was going through one of my bouts with lung cancer and this helped me beyond words. I could escape into a world I did not know anything about and leave health and illness behind.

@merpreb Incredible, we could go and visit once I get my surgery over and recover, because we live in Iowa. There was one eagle in the front that hardly moved and just lifted up it's head. Was it dying? Thank you for sending this. Jeanie

@gingerw What a beauty of a rose. When we lived in San Diego we had smaller roses at the house we bought. I enjoyed them a lot. They take a lot of work. Well these really didn't, but I was in my 40's then. Just had to keep the nasty bugs off of them by spraying them with soap water.

@lilypaws- Hi Jeanie. Watch some of the live footage before you get out there! It will mean so much more. No, that is Mom, the female eagle in the Decorah nest. The male is called DN2. Decorah male 2. Dad was her first mate for ages. She has laid 36 eggs and except for 2 all have fledged (flown the nest).
