Visual Escapes and Daily Inspirations: Share Yours

Posted by John, Volunteer Mentor @johnbishop, Mar 16, 2020

Let's create a space to offer a daily reprieve.

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought a lot of uncertainty and fear into our lives. Some of that fear and uncertainty can be caused by over thinking what is going on or unnecessarily worrying. So, I'm making sure I wash my hands frequently, not touching my face, staying away from social gatherings and all of the recommended guidelines to help avoid getting or spreading COVID-19 but it can be a little boring. I try to not watch news all day long while I'm in this self imposed captivity. I like to take pictures of birds and other creatures from my window as a welcome break.

I invite you to join me in sharing pictures, favorite poems, sayings, mottos, funny moments. Let's take a daily break together.

Hey buddy...you are out of hickory nuts!

@johnbishop, Ah Hah, you caught him in the act. Send him over, my neighbor still has acorns strewn in yard from the fall and he'll just be another addition to the 3-4 already in my yard. Even though these guys are proficient at burying pecans which continue to sprout each spring, they are really cute little fellas up close.

Hi. I have a Nikon D3200 but I don't use it very often. I also have a Canon point and shoot with about 20 megapixals and at least a 20x zoom. I would love to be part of a group that goes on photography outings once this virus is over with. Well this photo is when I went to Italy last August and rode through parts of southwest Switzerland. I loved the mountains.

@kismet85 Beautiful shot. I like the way the two different ranges of mountains are so distinct! How long did you get to enjoy this beauty?
Welcome to Mayo Connect, by the way. How did you find us? Are you a patient with health concerns, or family member, or caregiver? We would love to know more of your story, when you are ready to share.

I was in the Northwestern part of Italy for about 2 weeks. I've always loved photography. I also recently bought a 35mm Canon AE-1. My mother sent me a link to this group and suggested that I check it out. Im happy that I did though. Thank you for all of your support in such in a short amount of time. Im glad to be a part of this group now. Thank you for all of your kind words. I look forward in hearing from all of you in this group in the future.
