PERLAK - zapalenie ucha środkowego

Posted by michalbajer @michalbajer, Feb 26, 2020

Pozdrawiam

I put this post in a translator... and probably not the greatest translation. Polish I believe. I cannot offer any other help.

PERLAK - otitis media

Hello, my 13-year-old son is after a few operations on the middle ear, the last operation was a radical operation, this means the removal of the middle ear, unfortunately the granular tissue called cholesteatoma accumulates on the mastoid process, which needs to be removed every three months, often under anesthesia because it is very it hurts, causes vomiting and fainting. if any of you have any experience in this topic and could help me, maybe there is a way to cure this disease, maybe you know a doctor who should be contacted. Regards

Hi @michalbajer, I used Google translate to read your post. I don't speak Polish, unfortunately. Perhaps you can use Google translate to read my message as well. https://translate.google.com/

It sounds as though your son had a a radical mastoidectomy. Members like @mgarthwait12 @squaredancer @imallears @lioness @johnbishop may be familiar with the surgery as well as the cholesteatoma accumulation you described and the need to remove it every 3 months. They may have some experience with this operation to share or be aware of others who have had this and have input to offer.

What was his diagnosis prior to the mastoidectomy?
