Daughter-in-law has Dermatomyositis
She has gone to the doctors has been in the hospital had all types of treatment but looking for a better alternative than pain medication and steroids she’s not able to do housework very limited in her physical energy looking for some Help in moving forward

Her liver enzymes are very high they run around 300 not sure what’s causing that if it’s the disease or if there’s something else going on
Possibly she should see a hepatologist. I had high liver enzymes and limited energy also. I was eventually diagnosed with PBC and put on Ursodiol, which helped liver functions. If she has PBC, steroids are not good for her liver. Wishing her well.
PS It was a rheumatologist who finally diagnosed my PBC and sent me to a hepatologist. The ANA test showed the problem was an autoimmune disease.

Has your DIL seen a rheumatologist? They are usually the specialists who treat autoimmune diseases. Can you tell us more about yourDIL and what symptoms took her to a doctor?
