Pain management

How is it possible but the government of the United States, the Congress and the Senate in the President pasted a law forbidding the Drug Enforcement Agency from investigating the manufacturers of opioids? I for one, do not believe that an epidemic that killed 200,000 people iwas caused soley by the prescription pads of doctors. I for one, believe it is possible but the drug manufacturers are selling their drugs out the back door into organized crime for resale on the street. This would not be the first time this has happened. For those of you old enough to remember Quaaludes from the 1970s, a downer that was very popular with the heavy party set, ended up being banned by the manufacturer put out of business because of every seven pills they manufactured they sold five of them illegally to drug dealers. Please someone enlighten me, why do the drug manufacturers need to be protected from the Drug Enforcement Agency if they're not doing anything wrong? Don't believe me? Search Google for when did the government pass a law to prevent the drug enforcement agency from investigating the opioid manufacturers. You will find an article in the Washington Post detailing the entire Affair from a few years ago.
