@clairep - Wellcome to Connect! Sorry to hear about your pancreatitis diagnosis. I have also been through that and I know what pain you are talking about. I’m glad you get some relief from Creon, but I don’t like that you are getting worse back pain. I think you should call your doctor now so you can be re-evaluated. Pancreatic pain refers to the back and you shouldn’t have to worry about what’s going on. Can you please get back to us about how you are doing?

Hi Ingegerd,

Thanks for your concern. I have had all the tests and so far my diagnosis is idiopathic pancreatitis. The next option for me is biliary sphincterotomy. They are trying to make sure to eliminate other possibilities before using that option by nailing down my diagnosis. I am scheduled for test for CF soon (which I am sure will be negative).

I have had my liver enzymes elevated on my last attack, so if that happens again I guess it makes me a better candidate for the biliary sphincterotomy, so i have orders in my purse to have blood work and an ultrasound if and when I have another attack.

Which is where my question comes in. I am getting relief from the digestive discomfort using the Creon, but I feel pain in my back... it can get bad enough to make wearing a bra uncomfortable, but not overwhelming at this time. I wonder if my lab work could be elevated and me not know it because I don't have the typical intense digestion pain because of the Creon.
