Earring hole ripped, sore, won't heal

@lisalucier

I ended up going to the doctor for pain from the August rip in my earring hole, and I don't have an infection. Evidently you can do cartilage damage, though, so I have to wear small earrings only if really wanted to go out this next month (mostly no earrings) and put cortisone on my ear lobe every night.

Wondering if @contentandwell @elizabethzimmermann @annedodrill44 @veeme @lioness may have experienced a rip in an earring hole before? If so, how did you get it to heal?

I never had pierced ears so cant help here .

@lisalucier OUCH! Thankfully I never have had a rip in my pierced hole. Just thinking of it ripping makes me feel queasy. I did use cortisone on my earrings for a while because for some odd reason I developed an allergy to the metal in them. It wasn't the gold but one of the alloys that they mix with it, probably nickel. If you do put earrings in I suggest you stick the post into the tube of cortisone or rub some on the post too.
