HLAA Wisconsin, in collaboration with HLAA Fox Valley Chapter in Appleton, will hold "Shining New Light on Hearing Loss" in Appleton on November 15th & 16th. The conference includes the annual meeting of HLAAWI followed by a social on Friday evening. The Saturday event features presentations on: Tinnitus, Coping When in the Hospital, Assistive Technology, Veteran's Virtual HLAA Chapter, and a keynote address by Barbara Kelley, the executive director of national HLAA. We will discuss advocacy for communication access, self help strategies, coping strategies that allow us to live WELL with our hearing loss and more. This conference is open to anyone who is interested in learning, including the people who serve those of us who have hearing loss. We know that our healthcare professionals need more information about the hard of hearing population, as do educators. And, of course so many of us with hearing loss, especially that of adult onset, need to figure a lot of things out for ourselves. More information on this conference is available at http://www.hlaawi.org Registration deadline is November 1st. Hotel block registration is October 15th. This is an excellent opportunity to learn. Fee to register is only $25. Contact me as well if you have questions.

Thanks to HLAA Fox Valley for hosting this event. I plan to make the 5-hour drive down there to take it all in. I appreciate all the work you folks are doing to put this on. Looking forward to it. Jim
