My Revision is Scheduled, Now I'm Nervous

@babette

I feel completely confident in my new surgeon. It's the inevitable post-op issues that are bothering me and unlikely to change: the hassle of the shower, the extreme scar sensitivity I experienced (for MONTHS). And I'm kind of sorry it's happening in mid-October because it puts the holidays in question and it means icy/snowy days right after my surgery. But, I'm assuming another long slow recovery and I have no reason to assume that! My complaints are petty when compared to the big picture: great medical care in Boston.

@babette I too had concerns about the scheduling of my last TKR. I had it in October, I think it was on the 17th, and my daughter was getting married in our home, in an intimate ceremony on the Saturday after Thanksgiving (November 25th). A large celebration/reception followed two weeks later in NYC on December 9th. I was fine for both occasions, much to my surprise because the first month+ was difficult. We went to NYC on the 7th to spend a couple of days beforehand sightseeing and I was able to walk all over the place -- in boots with a 2" heel! So try not to worry. The upcoming holidays will give you extra incentive to get back on your feet.
You are right, I don't think you can do better than the medical care in Boston. It's worth the drive for me, from southern NH.
