sacral neuromodulation .. any people have this done??

I have been scheduled for this procedure for both incontinences. I went to youtube last night and got scared... lots of personal videos about pain, embarrassment, etc, Not sure I'm liking what I see. Also,, I seem to be the MRI queen.. lots of things breaking on me. I suppose I will not be able to have MRIs in the future..?? lots more questions,, but will wait for responses to hear your experiences before I can figure out how to ask more. thanks.

I see that you have not had any responses to your post so I wanted to draw your attention to a current post (a bit different than your procedure) about sacrocolpopexy and cystocele repair. Here is the link. Perhaps if you post your question in this discussion you might get some responses. Hi well I have decided not to have that surgery. It really freaked me out. I'll just have to take extra clothes along with me in every car I have or continue to do that I should say. And just, you know deal with it the way I've been dealing with it. I'm not having that surgery. no.!

Hi well I have decided not to have that surgery. It really freaked me out. I'll just have to take extra clothes along with me in every car I have or continue to do that I should say. And just, you know deal with it the way I've been dealing with it. I'm not having that surgery. no.!

well,the embarrassment for one... (blush). and the fact that there will be an electrode in my back, thru the sacrum,, and done by my urologist and not my neurologist.. and I don't want that 'box stimulater in my body either. so, I guess just everything. I got my insurance figured out so I"m going to try drugs again. After my fall last autumn, , I've been having problems again. My urologist did not even look at my bladder sling. Getting to the point I don't like him.....not sure there would have been anything he could do anyway with it. The fall really messed my body up in many ways.

I had the Medtronic InterStim implanted in May 2017. It has helped some but not enough. I cannot have MRIs -- only X-rays, CAT scans. At the airports, I need to show them the Medtronic card and use the appropriate scanner machine. It creates a little delay but it has never created a serious problem. The procedure was expensive (about $30,000 but the insurance paid for it). If I had to do it again, I would not do it as the relief I received was not worth the trouble or the expense. Others, of course, may have had a better response. I'm now considering botox treatment for the future.

I did decide NOT to have the procedure. Changed meds and having better luck with peeing,, I only worry that later in life, it may get worse. but, I still will NOT have this procedure done. so sorry your surgery did not give you satisfactory results.
